The Cosgrove 3 Landfill precinct is an established waste management facility designed to accommodate large-scale resource recovery and disposal activities.
The proposed concrete recycling operation will be located within the existing rock stockpile area of the landfill. This area is already used for rock crushing activities to produce material for landfill daily cover operations. As such, the proposal will utilise the same established hardstand/pad and operational area, avoiding the need for additional land disturbance.
The site is well suited to the proposed use due to:
• Existing landfill and waste processing operations
• Established use of the area for rock crushing and stockpiling
• Separation from sensitive land uses
• Existing heavy vehicle access arrangements
• Availability of appropriate infrastructure for material handling
The use of this existing operational area represents an efficient and logical extension of current activities within the landfill precinct. |
