Significant tree (Willow Myrtle) removal, The tree has grown into overhead power lines and requires continual pruning to maintain power line clearances as per the Electricity Act 1996 (part 5 - 55:2 ) . The neighbour located at number 7 Aboyne lost power last year due to branches damaging power lines. The tree presents electrical safety risks to both properties #5 and #7 Aboyne Ave. 30% of the tree overhangs into neighbouring property. The life span of a Willow Myrtle ( Agonis Flexuosa ) is 30 to 60 years , this tree was planted in 1959 (the year the house was built) so at 67 Y.O. is at the end of it's life, evidenced by much of the foliage in a distressed state. The tree is in declining health with a large cavity within the trunk. If we removed all overhanging foliage then exercised our 30% maintenance pruning we would be left with little more than a tree trunk, possibly making it structurally unbalanced . In addition , the tree is exposed to prevailing winds. Replacing the tree with three better suited trees would be our preferred outcome.
