The proposed development seeks to retain the existing dwelling wherever possible, focusing works to the rear addition to improve functionality, natural light, and connection to outdoor areas for a growing family of four. The works have a strong focus on landscaping with a proposed new in-ground swimming pool located towards the eastern boundary of the site. The addition introduces a more open and flexible internal layout, with improved circulation throughout the home. Key interventions include the enclosure of the existing garage and reconfiguration of internal spaces to create better flow, tailored around the way the clients live. The addition has been designed to the rear of the dwelling and is largely concealed from the streetscape, maintaining the existing character and presentation of the original brick veneer house when viewed from the street. A strong emphasis has been placed on enhancing the relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces, allowing increased natural light and ventilation deep into the home.
