- I wish to use a 10 metre refrigerated trailer to slaughter my own lambs for sale. I have all the required Qualifications and experience to preform this task. The River Farm Products has been operating for twelve years cert no 10-766. I propose to kill 50-100 lambs a year (1-2 ton of meat a year). The plant would be monitored by PIRSA. The Trailer would be constructed under the rules to pass regulation. I propose to contain all wash up water including blood into a shuttle then empty onto my fruit trees. Solid waste will be burnt or buried as is currently done in the butcher shop. I have contacted the EPA and current regulation states that I fall below the hundred ton of finished product needed to require an approval from them. The trailer will not be moved as PIRSA regulation states that it must be connected to potable water and must be tested annually and cannot be mobile. The trailer will be located along my bottom shed 50 meters from the butcher shop. No employees will be required.
