Dear Council Officer, I am writing to formally submit a tree removal permit application for the property located at 35 Bambury Street, Boronia Victoria. Background: On 04 June 2026, a large tree in the rear yard of this property failed at the base during a severe storm event and fell onto the boundary fence and the neighbouring property's roof at Unit 3, 33 Bambury Street, Boronia Victoria. The State Emergency Service (SES) attended the scene to assess and manage the immediate safety risk. In addition to the fallen tree, two further dead gum trees remain standing on the property. These trees present a significant and ongoing safety risk to occupants and neighbouring residents, particularly given that the household includes a person with a disability and that neighbouring properties also house vulnerable residents. Given the recent storm event, the structural failure of one tree already confirmed on this site, and the deteriorated condition of the two remaining dead trees, there is a heightened and foreseeable risk of further tree failure causing serious injury or property damage. Action Requested: We respectfully request council approval for a qualified arborist to conduct a formal risk assessment of all trees on the property. Should the arborist recommend removal of any or all trees, we seek council permit approval to proceed with removal promptly given the urgent safety circumstances.
