Property Scores — 06 of 08
Long-term satellite-derived irradiance and photovoltaic output potential, scored per address. Free for any address in Australia.
Live Example
Drag the sun through the day and watch the light move across 3D buildings. PVOUT is the long-term Solargis resource at each address.
How It Works
Built on the Global Solar Atlas, the same Solargis modelling used by utility-scale developers.
Global horizontal irradiance at the address from the Global Solar Atlas: a long-term average derived from satellite observation, at roughly 250-metre resolution.
Solargis' simulated photovoltaic output potential (kWh per kWp installed) for the location, which folds in temperature losses and seasonal patterns, not just raw sunshine.
Output potential is anchored against the observed Australian range so the 0-100 score separates genuinely strong solar locations from merely average ones.
Location Sets The Ceiling
The same hardware yields meaningfully different long-term output between Australian cities — that location-level difference is what the score measures, not your roof or its shading.
more annual output from identical panels — location is the part of solar yield you can't change.

Data at Scale
The Problem
Between cities, and even across one state, the same panels produce meaningfully different output.
Most quotes use a city-wide yield assumption. Actual long-term irradiance varies with local climate, elevation and latitude.
Solargis and the Global Solar Atlas publish world-class irradiance data. Almost nobody checks it for a specific address.
Payback calculations for solar-plus-battery are sensitive to yield. A 10% output difference moves the answer by years.
Honest by Design
Location-level irradiance is the part of solar yield you cannot change and cannot see from a quote. Site-level shading is the part a good installer assesses on the day.
Use the score to compare locations and sanity-check yield assumptions, then get a site assessment for the roof itself.

Who It's For
Sanity-check the yield number in your solar quote against the actual long-term resource at your address.
Solar potential is a sellable feature in new estates and a factor in sustainable design certification. Quantify it per lot.
Add solar potential to buyer reports and listing content with a source you can cite.
